Obtain a Driving Licence (Private Car and Light Goods Vehicle)
- You have to be at least 18 years old.
- You are physically fit to drive.
- If you have any physical disabilities, you may have to attend the driving ability assessment before applying for a driving test.
Driving test requirements:
- Written test (Part A Test) on the Road Users' Code; and
- Road test (Part B Test and Part C Test)

If you want to take a driving test, you have to apply for a driving test form in order to make a driving test appointment.

If you are a repeater, you can make your appointment online.
- If you want to apply for a learner's driving licence, you have to complete the application form TD555.
- You can learn driving in a government designated driving school or with a private driving instructor after obtaining a learner's driving licence.
- Learner’s driving licence is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. You may consider applying for the learner’s driving licence right before your driving training.
- You are eligible to apply for a probationary driving licence within 3 years from the date of passing the driving tests.
- You have to complete a mandatory 12-month probationary driving period before you can apply for a full driving licence.
- You are required to apply for a full driving licence within 3 years from the date of your completion of the probationary driving period.
